Jim Askew is the director and owner of your local Griswold Home Care office. Jim watched Griswold Home Care grow over the years and after divesting himself of other business ventures, opened the Griswold Home Care office in Austin, which serves Austin and the surrounding communities. In his spare time, Jim enjoys sailing, fly fishing, and spending time with his family.
Meet his team:
Molly Browning, Director of Marketing, has a long history of involvement with Austin’s arts scene since she served as the first marketing/PR director for Austin Lyric Opera. She continues to serve on the Boards and Executive Committees of KMFA, Austin’s classical music station and the Austin Classical Guitar Society.
MJ Strickland, Case Manager, has worked with seniors in various capacities for many years. She was the Enrichment Coordinator at a senior independent residence, worked for a south Austin physician, and was office manager for a chiropractor. She has always found great satisfaction when working to bless others, which is a top priority with her efforts at Griswold Home Care. She enjoys spending time with her church, friends, and family.
Connie Hawkins, Community Development Manager, has been an Austin resident for over 25 years. She studied merchandising, marketing, and interpersonal relations during college. She has worked in marketing, sales, and customer service for various local businesses. She has worked as a project manager, organizer, and decorator for various clients in her own business. She loves exploring the Austin area and spending time with friends and family.
Erin Pedersen, Case Coordinator / Human Resource Manager, worked for several years in the retail industry, beginning in college. Graduating with a degree from Abilene Christian University in fashion merchandising, she found her heart in customer service. Upon moving to Austin in 1999, she continued retail work until 2006. Seeking a new career opportunity, she began a new chapter by working for Schlotzsky’s in their corporate office for the next three years. Later, Erin joined a research and development company where her focus was on recruiting.
Erin’s love for customer service and her knowledge of corporate organization, including recruiting, are the perfect skill-set for finding and interviewing the caregivers we refer. She works hard to find the best available caregivers for our company to refer to our clients. Erin loves working with both the client and the caregiver to find the perfect match. Erin, who grew up in northern Louisiana, enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, their dog, and three cats.
Linda Benitez, Administrative Assistant, was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She began working at age 16. She started as a party planner for Peter Piper Pizza. After graduation from high school she became a personal stylist at a high-end men’s clothing boutique. She was offered a position as assistant manager for another retail company, where she sharpened her management and customer service skills. She later went back to her roots, getting certified to work within the entertainment industry as a server and planner for banquets, weddings, and special events.
In 2009, after the birth of her son, she wanted a more routine schedule that utilized her organizational and customer service skills. Through a family friend she heard about becoming a certified nursing assistant and began taking classes. Once she obtained her certification she began work at a nursing facility. Linda went on to earn her RNA and stay at that community for three years. Seeking a change with more flexibility for her schedule, Griswold Home Care was excited to bring Linda on board as an office assistant. Linda’s skills in organization and her caring spirit with clients are a wonderful asset. In her spare time, Linda likes to relax with her family.
