Thanks for visiting! I’m Brenda Gross, a Certified Senior Advisor, and I’ve spent nearly my entire career in the health care field. I understand how hard it is to trust someone with your family, so I’m going to tell you just a little about my family and why, having worked in all types of senior facilities and programs, I’m most passionate about in-home care.
Who we are: The Gross family? We’re the neighbors that host the annual Halloween block party. We lived briefly in Louisiana, so we are pros at peeling crawfish, frying fish, and making gumbo and jambalaya. Our sons are now a mixture of Texan and Cajun! We lead an active lifestyle and love connecting with our community.
Why in-home care? For eight years I provided care and therapeutic services for seniors both in community and Long Term Care facilities. My last position was Director of Rehabilitation and Community Services for a Nursing Home and Community Health Center. There, I developed a variety of services and programs for seniors, including adult day support and home care. The facility I worked in had a unit specifically for those with Alzheimer’s, and that’s when I knew home care was the field I wanted to stay in. There’s quite a lot you can do to make individuals with Alzheimer’s comfortable in a facility, but there’s nothing quite like the familiarity of home to soothe nerves. When I saw family members struggling to know how to handle their loved ones, I started and facilitated an Alzheimer’s support group.
I also have some background in health insurance and recovery. I’ve worked as a Case Manager and an individual health advisor for an insurance company, and as a health recovery consultant for a large school board. I am also a member of the National Association of Professional Women.
I offer you my experience and education, and the passion of my entire team of staff and caregivers to ensure that your loved ones receive quality care.
