As a disabled Army veteran, I knew what qualities to look for when seeking quality home care. From their initial home consulting, the Griswold representatives understood that my physical injury may have affected me in other ways. Thus, they frequently checked my progress. I am most thankful for the quality home care received. After listening to my needs, the company assigned to me a passionate, attentive, caring and professional nurse. I knew that I was in good hands when the nurse said to me, “My goal is to treat each and every patient as if he or she were my only patient. And she set out to do just that. I am thoroughly satisfied with this experience. Griswold’s excellence in customer service reaffirms that through teamwork all is possible. Thank you, Christine. – Mr. D
I wanted to thank you for getting things in place for us on such short notice. Words cannot express what that has meant to our family and to our peace of mind during a very tough time. – Anonymous
My dad and I contacted Griswold Home Care in the fall of 2013 for assistance for my mother who was in failing health after a broken hip. Christine Friedberg and all the staff at Griswold took great care to learn the issues regarding my mom’s health, what type of assistance was needed, and worked with me and my dad to find the right person with not only the best skillset but the right personality that would be a good fit. The end result was that we had the assistance of a wonderful home health care aide who would help bathe, dress and feed my mom every weekday morning for several months. In addition, she would spend time with my father in helping him, talking to him and general companionship for an hour or so during a very stressful time. What has been “above and beyond” is that mom’s aide has contacted me and my father after my mom’s passing to check on us – certainly not a job requirement but much appreciated! We had researched several providers of home health care – Griswold is the exception vs. the rule in terms of customer service, quality, responsiveness and general compassion. I would recommend them to anyone!- Anonymous
I have been a caregiver for 20 years. From my experience I can say Griswold is an outstanding agency. They are professional, knowledgeable and caring. I find them to go above and beyond for their caregivers and clients. Anytime I call the office my needs are met and I hear the same feedback from my clients. Before I could begin to work I was carefully screened what I felt was above and beyond any other agency I had worked for. Thank you Griswold for being the best in Home Care!- Jane G., Griswold Home Care caregiver
I am Christine Friedberg and I am privileged to be the Director of the Griswold Home Care Office in Northern Virginia East. I live in Alexandria with my husband, Mike, our daughter and twin toddlers.
While growing up in the DC metro area, I was raised to believe in service. As a minister’s daughter, serving those in my community is thoroughly ingrained in my values. I was initially exposed to senior care and home care through my grandmother’s special caregiver – a woman she called her “Angel.” “Angel” was full of compassion and provided my grandmother with the care and companionship that my family could not provide long-distance.
As fate would have it, I was brought back to the idea of home care as a relationship manager with a franchise consulting and research company. I quickly realized that Griswold Home Care was an industry leader, and I made a career change because I wanted to help families like my own. My team and I can help your family whether you need a few hours of respite care or full-time live-in care.
With a background in hospice care, I learned firsthand the comfort and sense of peace people gain from being able to remain in their own homes. Sharing that experience with clients and families earlier in their lives is one of the major reasons I switched to working in home care.
Erin Corbett – Case Coordinator
I joined Griswold as the Care Coordinator after finishing my MBA in healthcare services. Prior to working at Griswold, I acted as caretaker for my mother as she battled cancer. This experience left me with renewed enthusiasm and compassion to help individuals and their families navigate the process of securing and maintaining in-home care. I greatly look forward to helping you and your family receive the best possible care.
Connie Ryan – Caregiver Recruiter
As the Caregiver Recruiter, I have the opportunity to work with and meet so many fantastic and compassionate people. With a background of working with small businesses and non-profits, I have a passion for working with people who go above and beyond the usual 9 to 5 job and who enjoy working for something bigger than themselves. After experiencing my grandparents aging process, I discovered the power of assisting people in their homes and the benefits of in-home care. Now I get to be a more active part of that process for so many people and I am honored to be a part of the Griswold community.
Julia Wilson- Director of Nursing
As the Director of Nursing, I am dedicated to ensuring your loved one and your family receive the best care from our team of exceptional care givers. I will be working with you to create your service plan as well as overseeing the care that our caregivers provide to you. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family!
After taking time out of professional nursing to partner in my husband’s overseas career and raise our children, I am happy to be back and doing my favorite thing: learning your story, making a connection, and helping you work through the challenges of changing needs. A long-displaced Washington state native, I find my eyes instinctively scanning the horizon for snow-capped mountains. I enjoy bicycling, gardening, pottery, and am president of my neighborhood association.
I am privileged to be able to use my skills and experience to serve the Northern Virginia community and most importantly the wonderful clients of Griswold.
Eddie Bowles – Recruiter
Our caregivers can provide personal care, homemaking services, and companionship care. Personal care services include support with bathing, grooming, oral care, skin care, range of motion activities, and continence care.
Homemaking services can include things like meal planning, laundry, cooking, shopping, errand running, and pet or plant care. Companionship care includes activities such as playing board games or transporting and accompanying clients when visiting friends and going to church or appointments.
Often our caregivers are providing a break or respite care for family members who serve as the primary caregivers. They can help pick up right where you leave off. A caregiver can come into your home or facility for as little as four hours a week or up to 24 hours, 7 days a week as a live-in caregiver.
Give us a call to discuss your needs/desires and we’ll tell you more about Griswold and how we can help.
