Hello, I am Eric Roberts, and I am privileged to be the owner and director of the Griswold Home Care office serving the Arvada-Golden and Central Denver communities. I have lived in the Denver metro area for most of my life, growing up in the Cole neighborhood of central Denver. After graduating from college, I settled in the Arvada area, where I live with my wife, Laura and our daughter, Jaeda.
My background has been in the high technology industries, spending the first 13 years of my career working as an optical engineer for Ball Aerospace and Technology Corporation. I spent the last 14 years of my career in various management/executive positions with companies in the semiconductor industry. Throughout my career, I have been successful in building and leading high-achieving engineering teams focused on delivering superior customer service and products.
My involvement in the home care industry came about as a result of a very personal and humbling experience during the summer of 2009. My mother, who had been receiving the services of an in-home caregiver for a number of years, had a sudden and substantial decline in her health, which made it unsafe for her to remain in her home. In the span of a couple weeks, I had to assume complete responsibility for her medical and financial affairs. I quickly found myself overwhelmed with very little information or knowledge about how to proceed with finding a safe facility for my mother. Additionally, I had little knowledge of how to pay for this care or even determine the best course of action to help resolve my mother’s medical issues.
For someone who had spent their entire career solving complex problems, the experience left me feeling alone, stressed, and exhausted. What got me through that period was the kindness of people who were part of the local senior community support system –specifically the mortgage division of my mother’s financial institution, various local healthcare organizations, her attorney, and other organizations that I was introduced to along the way. Ultimately, her physicians were able to stabilize her medical condition and I was able to find a safe and affordable facility for my mother to relocate.
My mother passed away a couple of years later, but that experience has stayed with me to this day. Becoming an independent owner and operator of a Griswold Home Care franchise provides me with the opportunity to refer high quality caregivers to those in my community who need assistance so that they may safely remain in their homes.
At Griswold Home Care of Arvada-Golden and Central Denver, the caregiver screening process is one of the most rigorous in the industry to ensure that the caregivers we refer provide high quality home care to our clients. Referred caregivers can provide a wide range of services ranging from caring for people suffering from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s’ diseases, providing respite and hospice care, or basic companion care services just to name a few. It is a true honor to be able to help you and your family with your care needs.
