My name is Allegra Chaney, and I believe in the dignity and necessity of caregiving. My dream is to share my experiences from my 35 years of service with fellow caregivers. The Caregiver Resource provides useful information to start your journey as a caregiver. Information on who caregivers are, what they do, why they do it, and how you can become one will set you on the path to success. I hope to guide you through the rest of your journey.
We will discuss a variety of topics from getting to know your first client to becoming their trusted advisor and aide to coping with grief, loss, and stress. The unique circumstances of caregiving will be covered as well from caring for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia to helping a cancer patient through the symptoms of their chemotherapy. There is so much to talk about when it comes to caregiving. The joys and struggles of helping others are always worth sharing, so please send me along any questions you have about non-medical caregiving.
I want to hear your stories, and other caregivers will want to as well. It’s very likely that someone else will be touched by your stories. Please use the comments section of each post to share your stories and connect with each other. The best person to talk to when you are feeling overwhelmed is someone who understands where you’re coming from and will be patient and listen. Don’t hesitate to lean on each other for support. As caregivers, we are stronger together.
I look forward to guiding you through your caregiving journey and hearing your stories. If you have a question or topic you’d like to discuss, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact me on Twitter at @AskAllegraBlog.
