Caregivers from Griswold Home Care Denver enable seniors and adults with disabilities to enjoy every day to the fullest. Outings that caregivers can help seniors enjoy include things like attending weekly swimming classes or bridge games, going to senior centers for exercise and social activities, scenic drives, visits to local attractions such as the Butterfly Pavilion, Denver Art Museum, and the Colorado History Museum, attending meetings of organizations such as the VFW, PEO and rotary, or attending religious services.
Caregivers can also be a companion if your loved one cannot leave home. They can help with activities like putting together and enjoying photo albums, Skyping with out of town friends and family, and playing games your loved one enjoys, all while providing needed support.
We are also actively involved with the Jean Griswold Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) private foundation established in 2010, which provides grants to select community programs that help people age in place. In 2019, we presented a $500 grant to the Colorado Gerontological Society to help support their vision grants. The CGS gives glasses and lenses to older adults across the state at no cost, so seniors can continue to see clearly and live in the home that they love.

“As the holiday season quickly approaches, many will struggle with increased feelings of loneliness – especially seniors, who spend more time alone than the average adult. This season, we encourage you to join our efforts by checking on your aging loved ones often.”
