Home Care in Lake and Geauga County, OH

Courageous family Caregivers often devote themselves entirely to keeping their loved one at home but often experience burn out. Dedicated professional home care workers offer thoughtful assistance to older adults but sometimes feel under appreciated.

Who cares for these devoted and faithful people who have made a conscious decision to put others before themselves? Griswold Home Care’s founder Dr. Jean Griswold had these very people in mind when she began our company in 1982. When Jean said “everybody needs somebody”, she was referring to both professional Caregivers and the families that need their help.

The Lake-Geauga office of Griswold Home Care continues Jean Griswold’s legacy of caring for both types of Caregivers. Being a Caregiver for older adults is a very demanding job. It requires compassion, patience, courage, and grace under pressure. We believe it takes a very special person to be a Caregiver and we treat Caregivers as very special people. Everyone deserves the compassion that only a Griswold Caregiver can provide.

Griswold Home Care is one of the most respected non-medical home care providers in Lake & Geauga Counties. We received an Independent Living Award from the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, largely due to the excellent care provided by our Caregivers. This award, according to WRAAA, goes to “long-term care service providers that have been exemplary in their service and provide highly qualified staffs.” Our community volunteer work has been recognized by the Lake County Council on Aging and the Greater Cleveland Consortium Against Adult Abuse.

Director Brian Rice is a Certified Senior Advisor and believes building community & advocating for older adults are critical to achieving our mission. He has facilitated a monthly Alzheimer’s Association family support group since 2012, delivered weekly Meals on Wheels for 15 years and was a board member for the Lake County Council on Aging for 7 years.

Care Coordinator Molly Doeing has been an LPN since 2004 and previously worked in both skilled nursing facilities and in-home care settings. Being a Caregiver herself for so many years makes her uniquely qualified to choose and refer the most compassionate and experienced Caregivers.

Brian and his wife Cheryl learned firsthand from Dr. Jean Griswold the many critical screening steps that are necessary before referring a caregiver to assist an often vulnerable population. Our long history of careful screening, perfected over a 37-year history, provides peace of mind to family Caregivers and a meaningful career for professional Caregivers.
