Your Home Care Referral Team: Kathleen and Shura

When seeking home assistance, we understand how important it is to know who you are entrusting with your care. It’s my pleasure to share with you a little about me and why I chose Griswold.

I am a lifelong New Yorker and a resident of Manhattan where my husband and I, along with our three sons, enjoy all the wonderful things our city has to offer. Before joining the Griswold family franchise, I worked over 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry in various marketing and commercial development positions.  It was there that I decided to shift my work to a new, hands-on mission: to help people live not just longer but better lives.

My personal belief is that people should experience the highest quality of life possible, no matter their physical or mental limitations. I see the home care industry as an opportunity to continue with that goal of positively impacting the lives of others. I have had personal experience with hospice care when my mother required it, and my husband’s mother currently receives personal home care to help her continue to lead a full life. We both feel that non-medical home care is an essential service, particularly in New York City, where families often do not live close enough to help care for their aging parents.  Referring caregivers through Griswold Manhattan has become my vehicle for impact, offering the highest quality of senior care to my neighbors in New York City.

Shura Fatakhova, headshotHello! My name is Shura Fatakhova, referral coordinator for Griswold Manhattan. My family and I immigrated to the United States from Samarkand, Uzbekistan in the former Soviet Union in 1997. I became a United States citizen in December 2003. In addition to English, I speak Russian, Farsi, and Uzbek.

My first job in the United States was at a senior living facility in Florida. I had been a physician in Uzbekistan and always felt a strong commitment to helping others, so it gave me great satisfaction to work with our elder population. I knew that I was making a positive difference in their lives. I left the senior living facility to take on the role of care coordinator at Jewish Traditions Home Care in Fort Lauderdale. In the 15 years that I worked there, not only did I get to know and cherish our clients but also their caring and concerned family members.

At the Manhattan Office of Griswold Home Care, you can be assured that we will not refer a caregiver to you that we would not recommend to our own loved ones.
