What Does a Caregiver Do?

Non-medical in-home caregivers’ responsibilities include assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living, sometimes known as ‘ADLs.’ ADLs are the activities you perform every day, such as dressing, using the toilet, and bathing. They may also provide services like transportation and accompaniment, running errands, reminding a client to take their medication, housekeeping, or laundry. Depending on a caregiver’s training and experience, some may perform other non-medical services for clients with Alzheimer’s, physical disabilities, and other conditions.
