With the support of the Jean Griswold Foundation, we were able to present a grant to Oak Hill Assistive Technology, a local non-profit that designs and builds smart homes for differently-abled and older adults. Check out the grant presentation and the tech making it possible in the video above!
You are part of a complex community and we know that caring is a two-way street. We share our company-wide home care experience of 30 years very actively with the health care and wider communities and we rely on other professionals to support us. We know what’s where, who’s who and where there’s financial support.
We offer you many sources of comfort through the journey of home care. For example: we’ll consult with your insurance; Yale’s Dr. Baker of the CT Fall Prevention Coalition trained our case coordinators; we initiated a program with the State (CCCI) to provide more affordable senior care. The Parkinson’s Association chose Griswold Home Care exclusively for respite care and we provide family relief home care services for the Alzheimer’s Association as well.
Families consider us the hub of non-skilled home care from the VNA and Hospice. Lawrence & Memorial Hospital; Apple Rehab, Colechester, Plainville & Uncasville; Regency Heights of Danielson, Norwich & Windham; Bayview Healthcare Center, Waterford; Beechwood Rehab, New London; Pendelton Rehab, Mystic are a few of the facilities who trust us with their patients.
Our senior care clients live also in communities such as Atria at Crossroads Place, Waterford; Crescent Point at Niantic; Juniper Hills, Storrs and Windham Falls Estates, Groton.
Our engagement with articles, events and workshops, some oriented to family members, some to professionals, brings relief to many. This year at the Capitol we sponsor a full day conference, Same Story Different Age: Sexuality, Money & Mental Health.
At the Annual Alzheimer’s Conference, people flock to us for the latest in home care research and our resources. We’re often a selected 90-minute workshop presenter where presentations are arduously vetted months in advance. The Fearless Caregiver Conference is another scene for our home care presentations. We are known for activities that support longevity and well–being for seniors, caregivers and baby boomers. We believe that the arts and healing go hand in hand.
We have deep respect for storytelling and writing. The Yale School of Nursing’s Creative Writing Awards are named for us. Stories at http://nursing.yale.edu/creative-writing-awards. We also match seniors with writers in Griswold Life Tales. Stories at http://www.homecare-ct.com/lifetales.html
