Ocean County, New Jersey has an extensive stretch of land along the Jersey shore that is a great place to be no matter who you are. Elder residents who enjoy visiting the various Ocean County attractions but may need assistance to make it happen will find support with a Griswold Home Care caregiver.
If your interest is enjoying the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, or visiting one of the many Ocean County state parks, attending a ball game in Lakewood, shopping in Toms River, or just attending a social event in the area, a Griswold Home Care caregiver will help facilitate attendance of the activity. Our caregivers will also help individuals who prefer the home environment, but who need assistance to do the hobbies and other activities they enjoy, or to attend activities in the local senior communities.
We are also actively involved with the Jean Griswold Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) private foundation established in 2010, which provides grants to select community programs that help people age in place. In 2019, we presented a $500 grant to Visiting HomeCare Service to support support A Friend’s House – a social day program for adults with cognitive impairments due to Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders. A Friend’s House is a social day program that offers a variety of services for local adults with cognitive and memory impairments, including exercise programs, planned social activities, meal programs, and caregiver support groups. Visiting HomeCare Service will use the grant to pay for 250 warm, healthy lunches that will be served to the program’s clients.
