Whether you are a professional making a referral, a potential client, a current client, or a family member, these are the team members you will be entrusting with your current home care needs.
A native North Carolinian, Mike grew up in Fayetteville, where he was influenced by his mother’s example of compassionate care as a nurse at the local VA Hospital and as a caregiver for family members in need. Mike became interested in Griswold Home Care out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of the growing senior population. He appreciates the company’s history with elder care and its commitment to excellence – a commitment he brings to the Wilmington area.
Our clients appreciate Mike’s dedication, willingness to go the extra mile, and up-front communication. He enjoys racquetball, working out, time with family, reading, and good coffee.
A Wilmingtonian of over 20 years, though a Nebraska Cornhusker by birth, Dorothy brings to Griswold Home Care a heart for families and a passion for helping them thrive in the place they love — their homes. She appreciates the gift caregivers were to her own family when her father was on hospice.
Dorothy came to Wilmington to work with children and families through the Yahweh Center. She and Mike have opened their own home to children in foster care and mentored couples preparing for marriage. They are members of Christ Community Church. Dorothy enjoys writing, historical fiction, walks on the beach, being outdoors, family time and dark chocolate.
Samantha Erwin, Case Manager
She is a Wilmington native who enjoyed an extremely close bond with her grandmother. “Home is not a place, it’s a feeling,” she explains. “My Grandma was always my home.” That bond brought her back to Wilmington from the west coast to take care of her grandmother. As a result, Samantha understands firsthand the challenges faced by families touched by dementia, as well as the emotional impact on caregivers.
Our clients and caregivers appreciate Samantha’s cheerful personality, professionalism, and attention to detail. She’s dedicated to creating new and existing ideas to enhance the quality of life for all seniors. She’s also an animal lover who enjoys spending time with her dog, being outdoors, traveling, photography, and poetry.
Theo comes to us from Maine where she served the seniors in her community as Director of a non-profit home health company. She traces her love for working with the elderly back to her childhood relationship with her grandmother. “I took any chance I could to spend time with my grandmother,” she explains. This passion has resulted in over 30 years of nursing care, primarily with seniors.
Theo is very involved with her family which includes six children, nine grandchildren and her husband. In her free time she enjoys walking and sailing.
Kelly is a North Carolina native who relocated to Wilmington in 2017. Her passion for helping others was directed to the home care profession after she witnessed an elderly woman literally drive her car into a local pizzeria shop. She wanted to be a part of helping seniors be both independent and safe. She brings to our office over 14 years of experience working directly with clients in facilities, home care, and hospice.
Kelly says, “I love home care due to being able to slow down and take the time to really get to know my clients. Our seniors need us and it’s not just a job to clock in and out of; this is changing lives by giving hope to those who have given up or giving life to those who aren’t ready to slow down quite yet. Personally, this is what gives me the drive to be the best caregiver of my ability.”
Kelly also brings to our team fabulous office experience as she assisted in starting up an insurance agency out of Raleigh, NC. Her responsibilities with that office included payroll, invoices, event management, agent relations, and more.
When Kelly is not working, she enjoys saltwater fishing and time with her family. She is a mother of two children and two pets, a ferret and a cockapoo.
