Norm and Patricia Potter, owners of Griswold Home Care for Winston-Salem, have a strong belief in the importance of family values. These values hold true in how they raised their 3 children.
Service to each other, family, friends, church, and community are central to these beliefs. The Potter family is honored to have served and supported many in their family and community through various difficulties, including health-related issues. Caring for aging parents and grandparents is a privilege shared by the entire family.
Through their professional careers, church, community, and volunteer involvement, Norm and Patricia developed a strong appreciation for the growing challenges facing an aging population. Norm’s most recent roles as Chief Development Officer for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Board Chair and Chief Volunteer Officer at the YMCA of Northwest N.C. provided first-hand knowledge on the issues facing an aging population. Quality of life and independence are important as we age. Being able to transition successfully home after an extended illness or continue living where and how we want is important for each of us.
In 2013, Norm and Patricia acquired Griswold Home Care for Winston-Salem. This business allows the Potter family to blend a passion for service with a growing need in their community.
Over the past 5 years, the team has worked with and served many families through a multitude of issues. As Norm says, “In many situations, our team members have become an extension of the client’s family, enjoying the sweet and funny moments and shared grief with a family who loses a loved one. Here at Griswold Home Care, to us there is nothing more important than family, and we are honored and privileged to come alongside any family needing assistance.”
To provide exceptional care, the Potters feel blessed to have a team of compassionate, dedicated, in-home care professionals! As Patricia says, “The women and men on our team are some of the most amazing people anyone would have the opportunity to work with! They are part of our Griswold family and are unsung heroes in so many ways. Many have been with us since the beginning, and we continue to add new staff every week who share our values!”
The Potter’s office team is one of the best in the business! They share the Potter’s beliefs and values and are committed to the agency’s clients, their families, and the in-home care team. Not only do they work hard, they support clients and staff through happy and difficult times.
